Today you set out on game drives through the jungle, the savannah and along the rivers of vast Nyerere National Park (once known as the Selous Game Reserve), a superb area for spotting wildlife. Fewer people visit this southern Tanzanian park than the parks in the north, yet it is home to elephants, hippos, crocodiles, lions, leopards, giraffes, the endangered rhino, the rare African wild dog and more. In size it is second only to Serengeti National Park, so be ready to travel quite a distance!

Activities:

: On a boat safari lasting 2 - 3 hours, you explore the scenic Rufiji River and its wildlife. From the boat you may see hippos, crocodiles, monkeys, lots of birds AND a beautiful sunset! To watch the sunset, you step onto one of the river's small sandbanks, where you can stretch your legs or have a drink as the sun goes down in this magical setting. Nothing is more beautiful than the calm of a river surrounded entirely by nature at this golden hour.
