Our story
It started with an internship. Tijs Krops and Edrian Waterman, two students from the Netherlands, spent theirs in Arusha with Baraka and his crew. They helped with the marketing and with setting the company up for international guests, climbed with the guides and drove along on safari. When the internship ended, nobody wanted to stop. Baraka Dalali
Founder of Kilimanjaro Nature Tours in Arusha and a licensed Kilimanjaro guide. Baraka grew up in the Udzungwa Mountains, came to the mountain as a porter and worked his way up to guide before starting his own company. He is certified in Wilderness First Response and trains his crew in first aid and CPR. His guides, drivers, cooks and porters are the people you meet in Tanzania.

How we work
You tell us what you want: dates, who is travelling, budget, pace. Within 24 hours you receive a proposal, free and without obligation, and we adjust it until it fits. When you confirm, you pay a deposit and later the balance, and you receive a complete travel file. At the airport Baraka's team takes over. The free Hakuna Matata Package comes with every trip: airport transfers, a private guide, 24/7 support and help when a flight booked through us is disrupted.
What we promise
- A free proposal within 24 hours. Without obligation, and adjusted as often as needed.
- Everything arranged before you book. Lodges, flights, activities and transfers are confirmed with our partner in writing before we send an invoice.
- Private guide and your own vehicle. On safari the 4×4 and the guide are yours alone; on Kilimanjaro you have your own crew.
- Lodges we know. We have visited more than 100 hotels and lodges ourselves and tell you honestly which one fits you.
- Fair prices, no middlemen. You book with us, and the trip is run by the company whose vehicles you ride in. Nobody in between.
Hakuna Matata Package
Every trip includes our support package at no extra cost: a complete travel file before departure, pick-up and drop-off at the airport, a private guide, 24/7 support during the trip, a replacement vehicle if yours breaks down and help when a flight booked through us is disrupted. Travel insurance
We do not sell insurance, and you do need one that covers a safari and, if you climb, trekking above 5,000 metres. Many of our guests use Chapka, which includes 24/7 medical teleconsultation. More about insurance.
