Far from the usual tourist routes, Unguja Ukuu is a village in the south of Zanzibar where you can take a boat to Mimi and Nianembe, two quiet, uninhabited islands in the protected Menai Bay. The private, full-day excursion takes place in a traditional dhow (with a motor). Getting to the islands takes about 45 minutes, and you may even see dolphins on the way. On the islands you can go for a walk, snorkel and enjoy a superb lunch of freshly caught fish!
