Kondoa's historic rock paintings are thought to be more than 1500 years old, and they offer an impressive glimpse into Tanzania’s ancient culture. Painted in red or white, they depict people and animals along with fascinating African geometric shapes, and you can find them in several hundred caves and rock shelters in the hills on the western side of the Rift Valley.
