Set right on the well-known Ngorongoro crater rim, but on its quieter northern side, the Entamanu Ngorongoro Camp is a charming and intimate tented camp. It is said to be the only spot where you can watch the sun come up over the Ngorongoro Crater and go down over the Serengeti plains. Bear in mind that the Serengeti is still quite a drive away, but the views from this tented camp certainly reach a long way!
The camp has seven double tents and two family tents, all roomy and luxurious, with ensuite bathrooms with hot water, comfortable beds with hot water bottles, and a heater in the room for cold nights (at this altitude!). Guests say the food looks beautiful and tastes delicious, and that the shared lounge with sofas and a restaurant is a lovely spot for swapping stories with guides and fellow travellers. Besides the wonderful views, the camp is a very good choice thanks to the short drive to the crater entrance. That means you can be among the first on the crater floor in the early morning! We also warmly recommend a guided walk from the camp across the rim to a Maasai village close by, led by a Maasai guide who knows everything about the plants, animals and birds around you. A wonderful experience!
